Programs

For the past 17 years The Cancer Education Consortium has offered a series of intensive training workshops. The format of the workshops is designed to maximize the educational value of each program and to provide mentorship and networking opportunities for physicians embarking on a career in cancer research. In order to maintain an intimate, seminar-style format, 20 to 25 oncology fellows are selected from a national pool of applicants for each workshop. The faculty members are selected based on their expertise in the field, their presentation skills, and their interest in mentorship. The workshops are planned to provide complementary training and educational experiences for fellows with a broad range of research interests. They emphasize specific aspects of clinical and translational research, including trial design, clinical pharmacology, and laboratory based approaches to clinical research. Many fellows or junior faculty find that more than one of the workshops are highly relevant to their research interests.
